E-Commerce Marketplace Development
Multi-Vendor Marketplace
A marketplace operator needed a platform that could onboard thousands of independent vendors, keep listing quality high, and settle payments cleanly at scale. Bricksense built it.
The Challenge
Running a multi-vendor marketplace means solving problems a single-store platform never faces: split payments and payouts, per-vendor inventory and shipping, listing quality control, and dispute handling — all while keeping the buyer experience coherent.
The platform had to support thousands of active vendors and a six-figure catalogue without search or checkout degrading.
Our Approach
Vendor onboarding
Self-serve registration with KYC, automated catalogue import, and a staged trust model for new sellers.
Payments & payouts
Escrowed order payments with automated commission split and scheduled vendor payouts, reconciled to the cent.
Search at scale
A dedicated search service with faceting, relevance tuning, and per-vendor ranking signals.
Trust & safety
Listing moderation queues, buyer protection, and a structured dispute-resolution workflow.
The Solution
Vendors manage their own storefront, inventory, pricing, and fulfilment through a dedicated portal, while buyers get one consistent catalogue, cart, and checkout across all of them.
Money movement is fully automated: buyers are charged once, commissions are split on capture, and vendors are paid on schedule with clear statements.
What We Delivered
- Multi-vendor marketplace platform
- Self-serve vendor portal with KYC and catalogue import
- Escrow payments, commission split, and automated payouts
- Scalable search with faceting and relevance tuning
- Moderation, buyer protection, and dispute-resolution tooling
The Results
The marketplace scaled to 2,500+ active vendors and 100,000+ listings, processing over $5M in sales a month and $50M in gross merchandise value over the year.
Automated settlement removed the reconciliation backlog entirely, and moderation kept catalogue quality high enough to protect buyer trust as volume grew.
Payouts just work, vendors onboard themselves, and search scales. The platform runs the marketplace so we can grow it.
