Luxury Hotel Brand Website Redesign
Boutique Hotel Group
A boutique hotel group was paying heavy commissions to online travel agencies because its own website did not convert. Bricksense redesigned it into a direct-booking channel that reflects the properties.
The Challenge
The site looked generic, loaded slowly, and buried the booking engine. Guests researched on the hotel's site and then booked on an OTA, so the group paid 15-25% commission on stays it had effectively already won.
The redesign had to feel as considered as the properties, work beautifully on mobile, and make direct booking the obvious path.
Our Approach
Art direction
A photography-led design with generous space, restrained typography, and a considered pace that matches the in-person experience.
Booking front and centre
A fast, integrated booking engine with a persistent date and rate widget and a transparent best-rate guarantee.
Performance
Optimised imagery and a lean front end so richly visual pages still load in about two seconds.
Direct-booking incentives
Member rates, perks, and messaging that make the value of booking direct explicit.
The Solution
The new site leads with the properties, keeps rates and availability one tap away on every page, and gives guests concrete reasons to book direct.
It is fast, it is beautiful on a phone, and it treats the booking engine as the point of the site rather than an afterthought.
What We Delivered
- Photography-led responsive website and art direction
- Integrated booking engine with a persistent availability widget
- Best-rate guarantee and direct-booking perk programme
- Performance optimisation for image-heavy pages
- SEO for property, location, and experience searches
The Results
Direct bookings rose 215% and the group's reliance on OTAs fell 40%, moving a large block of revenue off commission.
Average session length reached 5.2 minutes as guests engaged with the content, and the commission saved plus incremental direct revenue added $1.8M over the year.
Guests used to browse our site and book on an OTA. Now they book with us. Direct bookings more than tripled and the site finally looks like our hotels.
